Overview
City Club mobile application is a comprehensive digital platform that transforms how club members interact with facilities, book activities, manage payments, and engage with club services. The redesign focused on solving critical UX issues while delivering a smooth, family-centric experience that members use daily. With bilingual support (Arabic/English), smart booking systems, and integrated wallet functionality, the app serves as the primary touchpoint for member engagement.
Challenge
City Club faced significant user experience challenges with their existing app. Members struggled with complex booking flows, limited family management features, and fragmented payment systems. The app lacked accessibility for Arabic speakers and guest users, resulting in low engagement rates and high support ticket volumes. Key pain points included: difficult activity booking process, no unified wallet system, poor family member management, lack of bilingual support (RTL/LTR), limited guest exploration mode, and overwhelming interface with unclear navigation paths.
Solution
We conducted extensive user research with club members across different demographics and created a complete UX redesign. The solution introduced a Smart Home Screen with personalized greetings and quick access to upcoming reservations, a comprehensive Family Management system allowing primary account holders to manage multiple family members with individual permissions, an integrated Wallet & Payments system with shared family balance and multiple payment options, full bilingual support with seamless Arabic/English switching and proper RTL/LTR layouts, Guest Mode enabling non-members to explore club features before joining, and a unified Club Activities Center with advanced filtering, booking, and calendar integration.
Design Process
Discovery & Research
Conducted user interviews with 50+ members, analyzed existing app analytics, mapped user journeys, identified pain points through surveys, and performed competitive analysis of leading club apps
User Personas & Flows
Created detailed personas for primary members, family members, and guest users. Mapped complete user flows for booking activities, managing family accounts, wallet transactions, and event reservations
Information Architecture
Restructured app navigation with bottom tab bar for core features, implemented smart home screen with personalized content, created logical grouping for activities/services, and designed bilingual content structure with RTL/LTR support
Wireframing & Prototyping
Developed low-fidelity wireframes for all key screens, created interactive prototypes for user testing, validated booking flows and payment processes, and tested with diverse user groups including Arabic speakers
Visual Design & Design System
Established brand-aligned color system (teal/green primary), created comprehensive component library, designed for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), implemented consistent iconography, and built responsive layouts for various devices
Development Handoff & Launch
Delivered detailed design specifications, created animation guidelines for smooth transitions, collaborated with developers on implementation, conducted beta testing with 500+ members, and monitored post-launch metrics
